Technology Marketing Intern — Life Sciences
Description
STC.UNM (STC) has responsibility for the patenting & commercialization of intellectual property arising from the University of New Mexico. Background: STC.UNM (STC) has responsibility for the patenting & commercialization of intellectual property arising from the University of New Mexico.
This entry-level position will provide a combination of experiences including learning about the field of technology transfer (intellectual property and commercialization), by entering information into STC’s proprietary database, conducting market research and market assessments and utilizing our custom database which tracks all intellectual property management, marketing, and licensing activities. Training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Duties will include:
- Data entry
- Coordinating and recording marketing activities
- Conducting market research for our new technologies
- Identifying potential licensees
Compensation
Employment is part-time on a semester-by-semester basis at an hourly wage rate of $10-12 per hour, depending on education and experience. The employment period is for the 2010 spring semester, but with a start date as soon as possible, with the possibility of continued part-time employment. Candidates must be dependable with a strong work ethic and be able to work with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position, at a minimum, should be starting their sophomore or junior year in biology or related life-sciences discipline and preferably have some experience working in an office environment. Good communication and computer skills are necessary.
